Description
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (February 18, 1486–1534) is a great propagator of Bhakti yoga of Vaishnava religion and one of the prominent poets of Bhakti period. He laid the foundation stone of the Gaudiya sect of Vaishnavas, gave birth to a new style of bhajan singing and emphasized the harmony of Hindu-Muslim unity in the days of political instability, taught to remove the feeling of caste, caste, high and low and Resettlement of the extinct Vrindavan. The Mahamantra Naam Sankirtana started by him has a very wide and positive effect even today in the western world. It is also said that if Gauranga was not there, Vrindavan would have been a myth till today. Many texts have been written on Gauranga, the main of which are the Chaitanya Charitamrita composed by Sri Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami, Chaitanya Bhagavata by Sri Vrindavan Das Thakur and Chaitanya Mangal by Lochandas Thakur.
